Born and raised in a small town in California’s Sierra Nevada mountain range, Jennifer moved to Oregon at age 21 with just $100 in her pocket and a suitcase in hand. She soon found herself settling down in Salem and began working in a local bakery and coffee shop, utilizing her background in culinary arts and hospitality management.
Jennifer’s life took a pivotal turn when she relocated to Eugene, where she met her husband, Forrest, a local contractor. “Not long after we began dating, Forrest started teaching me about the trades, construction, and the ups and downs of small business,” says Jennifer. Three years later, the couple married, and Jennifer started a new career as a real estate agent. Her experience there laid the groundwork for her and Forrest to start their own remodeling company, Castile Kitchen & Bath.
Running a remodeling business has allowed Jennifer to greatly expand her entrepreneurial, marketing and finance knowledge, all of which have been key for the launch of her latest company, Jennifer James Inc. “Jennifer James was created after decades of being part of the construction industry, spending years attending trade shows, building a national network of business colleagues and touring dozens of showrooms throughout the United States,” says Jennifer. “Our mission is to create a better world, one person, one experience and one home at a time.”
Specializing in kitchen and bathroom design, Jennifer James Inc. offers product education and brings the latest design trends to the Eugene area. “When offering design services, it’s important that we work with others to create a space that elevates the way they live in their home, as well as brings in elements of their personality and flair,” says Jennifer. “As someone who loves people, I aim to create a space that makes others feel welcome and seen.”
